How The Web Now Dominates Our
Lives - July, 2006
According to new research, the internet has become the No. 1 or No. 2 medium
behind television during nearly every time of the day, and that includes
mornings from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., where it has surpassed radio. Web usage peaks
between 2 and 5 p.m., when nearly 40 percent of all users are online either at
work or at home. The study, released by the Online Publishers Association,

Half of U.S. Households Now With Broadband
Internet - February, 2007
U.S. residential subscriptions to broadband Internet services surged 20% in 2006
to exceed 50 million households, according to a market research study by Parks
Associates. The report estimates U.S. residential broadband subscriptions will
surpass 60 million households by year-end 2007, accounting for 55 percent of
all U.S. households. Read the

Internet usage in the European Union -
2006
According to the European Commission nearly half of the EU25 population use the
web at least once a week. A third of households and three-quarters of enterprises
had broadband internet access.
