Asia Internet Market
Report
While there is considerable activity in the
Internet and online markets across the region, the market in Asia continues to
be dominated by the big players of North Asia, (South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong,
etc), with a significant role also being played by some of the South East Asian
countries (Singapore, Malaysia, etc). Of course, in terms of sheer Internet user
numbers, China (384 million) and India (81 million) maintain a real presence,
despite their modest user penetration figures. Notably, China surpassed the US
in 2008 to become the largest nation of Internet users in the world and by end
2009 was showing no signs of slowing down.
This market report provides a comprehensive overview of the Internet segment of
the market across the various economies of Asia. The overview naturally includes
a look at the broadband segment within these markets.

Global Telecommunications -
Investing in the Communications Revolution
Perhaps the most remarkable aspect of this report
is that the views of Professor Carlota Perez as expressed here were written well before
the financial crisis. This makes this report all the more poignant. At the same time
it validates that telecoms have a key role to play in the economic revival. However,
this will need to be done in a totally new framework in order to get us through the
transition period of the communications revolutions. We are now moving towards what
she calls the mass deployment phase, which will be accompanied by unprecedented social
and economic benefits not just for individual nations but, if we do it right, for
all the global community also.

Asian Telecommunications -
Mobile Operators Report
This market report provides a wide-ranging review
of mobile operators across the Asian region. The overview covers around 170 operators
that were to be found in Asia in 2010. There was a combined total of close to 2.1 billion
mobile subscribers being served by these operators going into 2010 and this is expected
to reach a total of over 2.5 billion by year end. The list of operators ranges from
the giant China Mobile with more than 500 million subscribers right through to a number
of small operators with only a few thousand subscribers each. It is noted that of the
region's operators just 15 of these have a combined share of around 68% of the regional
mobile market.
This overview of operators in the region does not claim to present an
exhaustive list of licensed operators but it certainly is indicative of the breadth
and variety of operator to be found in the region. It also reflects the highly
competitive nature of the mobile sector in this region. The range of information
presented in the text, and where appropriate in tables, includes: brief history
of the company; corporate and business structure; subscriber growth; some
information on financial performance; market position.
