World Broadband Usage in
2005
By Enrique De Argaez,
webmaster
Computer Industry Almanac has reported that
Internet users worldwide are foreseen to reach 1,000 million at
the end of 2005 and to approach 1,800 million in 2010. The number
of broadband subscribers is to exceed 217 million by 2005,
growing from fewer than 5 million in 1999 and 67 million in 2002,
and will hit the 500 million mark by 2010, according to the
report...
The "Internet Users by Country" report compiles data four ways.
It takes projections from a survey, it also estimates based on
the number of Internet host computers and based on the portion of
computers-in-use with Internet access, and it takes projections
from the number of Internet access accounts and the average
number of Internet users per account. Data are available from ISP
associations in a handful of the countries tracked. (see Table
1).
