Brunei Telecommunications and Broadband Reports

Brunei Telecoms Mobile Market Overview and Broadband Report
Brunei, with its relatively high annual GDP per capita, is a strong consumer of telecommunications services. There is an eagerness to have the most modern infrastructure available. This report looks at how the sultanate is trying to meet the demand for telecom services and, in particular, how it is addressing the need to restructure and generally liberalise the industry to achieve this. The local landscape is still dominated by Jabatan Telekom Brunei (JTB), the incumbent telco that up until 2006 had been be a division within the Ministry of Communications. Brunei has been a difficult country to obtain up to date official statistics for the telecommunications sector.

Asia Mobile Broadband Statistics and Analysis
Asia owns almost half of the world's mobile subscribers and a huge number of those customers are now accessing broadband services via their mobile telephone. At the same time the transition to fibre-based broadband services has been happening faster in Asia than anywhere else, strongly underpinning the importance of delivering fixed high speed broadband services to both home and office. On the back of the mobile and broadband market segments and their respective capabilities, Asian nations have been busy building a formidable alliance with the digital economy; hence the huge demand for data-handling capacity.
