Free SEO Tools Review
By Enrique De Argaez,
webmaster
There are some good tools available
for free in the Internet. Most correspond to traffic and customer
generating strategies from their owners or promoters. However,
these tools are really useful and free to use. So give them a
try. But before you begin, one word of WARNING.
Be careful, only download from websites that you know you can trust. The
Internet beginner can get into trouble wandering around bad
websites, just like in the real world walking around in a Bad Neighborhood
can get you in to trouble. Be cautious and investigate before using any "free"
tools or programs. They might contain spyware and adware hidden in
them. Most of the so called "free surfing acelerators" contain
malware, be careful.
Below are some recommended free tools we have tested and that
were found safe and useful (at the present time).
IBL Checker
To get a good ranking in the search engines your web site
requires good, interesting and well written content. You also
need several relevant, related links, incoming as well as
outgoing to OTHER websites that cover the subject you are writing
about. In Internet language, the subject is defined by the
"keywords" used.
This tool is realy is quite simple to use:
1 - Click on the link to open the page.
2 - Enter the keyword(s) you wish to check.
3 - Hit the submit query button and
4 - The program shows several websites containing those keywords
and their Google page rank.
5 - Place links on your web page to the websites you wish to
link and that fit nicely with your own page content.
The tool also suggests the minimum number of quality PR4+
inbound links your page requires with the proper anchor
text to stand a chance at top 10 ranking in the Google search
engine. The number of inbound links is not a proven "fact". It is
only the programmers calculation of what should be needed to
achieve a top 10 spot and should be taken as an educated guess,
nothing more.
Google
Toolbar
This free tool from Google allows you to search the web and
block the annoying pop-ups. System Requirements are Microsoft
Windows95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP and Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0+.
Pop-up blocker requires Internet Explorer 5.5+.
Overture Keyword
Selector
Not sure what search terms to bid on? Enter a term and the tool
will display for free a list of the Searches done in the previous
month related to your keyword(s) entered. Use it to find what
keywords people search more often.
Opera
A fast and safe web browser.
Spybot
A very good spyware destroyer.
Statcounter
A free yet reliable invisible web tracker, highly configurable
hit counter and real-time detailed web stats. Insert a simple
piece of our code on your web page and you will be able to
analyse and monitor all the visitors to your website in
real-time!
Thunderbird
The new email program from the Mozilla Foundation. Makes a great
team with the Firefox browser.
That's all for now. New tools will be added as we find and test,
so bookmark this article and come back frequently.
Take care,
Ricky
